Dennis Carl Adkins
(May 7, 1942 - June 21, 2015)

Dennis Carl Adkins, 73, of Apple Grove, WV, died, Sunday June 21, 2015 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Memorial funeral service will be conducted 7:00 PM Saturday June 27, 2015 at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington with Pastor Bob Huron officiating. Dennis was born May 7, 1942 in Cabell County, WV, a son of the late Antil Horace & Mabel Dolen Adkins. He worked most of his life in construction. He was a lifetime member of the N.R.A. He was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters & a granddaughter, Breah Ferguson. Survivors include his wife, Carol C. Adkins, two children, Elizabeth Closser-Gomez & husband Joe R. Gomez of San Antonio, TX, and William Closser of Glenwood, WV, three sisters, Geraldine Adkins of Lesage, Sue Hodges & Lulubelle Jarvis both of Huntington, four grandchildren, Cynthia Gomez of San Antonio, William Christy of Ohio, Emmitt McCrary of Lesage and Tammy Gue of Huntington and several great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Little Victories Animal Rescue, 3589 Wire Branch Rd., Ona, WV 25545. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Saturday.
