Obituary

Clarence C. Capehart Jr.

Clarence Clayton Capehart, Jr. "Gramps", 94, of Huntington, WV, died Wednesday January 22, 2020. He was born March 20, 1925, a son of the late Clarence and Blanche Tolley Capehart, Sr. One brother Donald Eugene Capehart and a son-in-law Michael Nicolai also preceded him in death. He is survived by the love of his life, Martha Cole Capehart, his wife of 74 years and 7 months. Clarence was proud to share photos of the five generations of his family, including his daughter Beverly (Michael) Wheeler; his granddaughters, Heather (Terry) Baldridge and Crystal (Brian) Roberts; great-grandchildren, Caleb (Lyndsey) Roberts, Keenan (Bethany) Baldridge, Annie Roberts, Benjamin Roberts; great-great-grandson, Noah Roberts. Also surviving him is a brother and sister-in-law, Jack (Linda) Capehart. He was a machinist by trade and retired from Sturm Machine Shop but kept his love of tools and tinkering to the end of his life. He was a beloved member of the Barboursville congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, where he enjoyed volunteering his time to share comforting Bible truths with others. He was affectionately known as "Gramps" by not only family, but many friends who look forward to seeing him again "just around the corner". Chapman's Mortuary is assisting the family.
