Jo Ann Newman, 86, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. She was born January 18, 1933 in Milton, WV a daughter of the late Charles Edward Roane, Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth Bragg Roane. She formerly worked as a beautician; a secretary at Union Carbide; and a clerk at J C Penney. She attended Trinity Church of God. Survivors include: a sister, Elsie Marie Fuller of California and a brother, Charles Edward (Sharon) Roane, Jr. of South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Allen Newman on June 4, 2017; a sister, Mary Annis Rumler; and two brothers, David Lee Roane and John Mark Roane. Graveside services were private at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
