James Edward Messinger
(January 10, 1936 - July 31, 2022)

James Edward Messinger 86, of Proctorville, OH, husband of Judith Marcum Messinger, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 at his residence. He was born January 10, 1936 in Branchland, WV. He retired from CSX as a Yardmaster. Survivors in addition to his wife include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Joy Elaine Beeson (Rick) and Lisa Gaye Schindler Greg) all of Florida; one son and daughter-in-law, John David Messinger (Yvetta) of Tin City, OH; two stepsons, John Laing (Pam) of CA, and Mark Laing of New York; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 on the way. Graveside services will be conducted 12:30 Friday, August 5, 2022 in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, OH, with Pastor Kyle Peake officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 11:00 to 12:00 Friday at Chapman's Mortuary. The procession will leave the funeral home at 12:15 to go to the cemetery.
