Laura Belle Whisenant

Laura Belle "Midge" Whisenant, 75, of Huntington, widow of Daniel Dale Whisenant, Sr., died Sunday, July 3, 2022 at her daughter's residence. She was born June 25, 1947 in Huntington a daughter of the late Carl and Lilly Mae Howard Tackett. Additional family that has preceded her in death were a son, James Whisenant; two sisters, Rose Chapman, and Jean Christian; and three brothers, Ray Tackett, Carl "Sonny" Tackett, and James Tackett. She was a homemaker and was considered "Mrs. Fix-it" to her family, as she could fix about anything around the house. Survivors include her two daughters, Shelly M. Lucas, and Kimberly D. Duncan, both of Huntington; a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel D. Whisenant, II and Robin Whisenant of Mint Hill, NC; four sisters, Sharon Rice of Kenova, Patricia Chapman and husband, John Chapman of Huntington, Beverly Walker of Huntington, and Sandra Walker of Culloden; 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, July 8, 2022 at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Wayne Craft officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. The family asks in lieu of flowers donations be made to the funeral home to help with expenses. Friends may call after 1:00 pm Friday at Chapman's Mortuary .
