Clarence Oliver Bryant
(August 10, 1928 - May 29, 2013)



Clarence Oliver Bryant, 84, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday May 29, 2013 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Greg Creasy. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born August 10, 1928 in Huntington, W.Va. a son of the late Lyle and Anna Caldwell Bryant. He graduated from Huntington East High School and was a veteran of the US Army having served from 1951-1953 during the Korean Conflict in Germany with the 7th Army, 8th EVAC Hospital. Clarence was an installer/repairman for C&P Telephone for 38 years and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Ethel Watts Bryant; brothers Marlyn Bryant and Bobby Bryant and sisters Charlotte Hensley and Beverly Vanderzalm. Survivors include three sons and a daughter in law David Bryant (Angel) of Barboursville, Charles Bryant (Dianne) of Wheelersburg, Ohio and Tommy and Jennifer Bryant of Ceredo, WV; three grandchildren and a spouse Bart and Haley Bryant and Brad Bryant both of Lafayette, Louisiana and their mother Tina Bryant of Lexington, Ky. and T.L. Bryant (Sara) of Ceredo, W. Va.; a great grandchild Landen Bryant; sister Lois Mays of Hurricane, WV and several nieces, nephews and very good neighbors. Friends may call from 5 to 7 pm Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home. The Veterans Honor Guard of American Legion Post 16, Huntington, will conduct military graveside rites.  Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
