Bettie Joe Chaffin
(July 19, 1928 - May 9, 2013)



Bettie Joe Chaffin, 84, of Huntington, passed away Thursday May 9, 2013 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Paul Ray Farley. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Huntington. She was born July 19, 1928 in Kanawha County, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Cecil and Luella Freeman Mollohan. Bettie was a health care worker and a member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of God. In addition to her parents Bettie was also preceded in death by her husband Howard Chaffin and five brothers and one sister. Survivors include three daughters and a son in law Sharon and Bruce Ross and Linda Wood all of Huntington and Brenda Ittig of South Point, Ohio; eight grandchildren Allen Rakes, Samantha Lawson, Beth Knyszek, Kim Rice, Bobby Miller and Nathan, Robbie and Andrew Ittig; several great grandchildren including the following Kathy, John and Chris; several great great grandchildren including the following Taylor, Tanner, Traivyn, Tyleigh, Urijah, Kinsley and Jaxson; two brothers and a sister in law Leonard and Tammy Mollohan and James Mollohan all of Gallipolis, Ohio and special friends Helen and Mary. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Monday at the Reger Funeral Home.
