Rebecca M. Queen
(November 17, 1948 - May 3, 2013)



Rebecca Lynn Mills Queen, 64, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord our Savior Friday, May 3, 2013 on her 44th wedding anniversary. A celebration of her life will be held at the Reger Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday May 11, 2013 at 11am and will be officiated by Minister Jana K. Stoner assisted by her husband Ryan C. Stoner, Reverend Hubert Harvey of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, Pastor Jamie Gump of Madison Avenue Christian Church and Reverend Dean Borgmeyer of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rebecca was born on November 17, 1948, a daughter of George Alfred Mills Jr. and the late Betty Ellen Stafford Mills. She was preceded in death by a dear mother-in -law, Lamina Faye Maynard Queen. Rebecca is survived by her husband of 44 years, Larry Preston Queen; a special father-in-law, Dr. Bernard Queen, a daughter, Stacy Lynn Queen; a son, Ryan Matthew Queen and his wife Andrea Michelle Queen and their children; a grandson, Jacob Ryan Queen and a grand-daughter, Taryn Makenzie Queen; brothers: Richard Bane Mills, and his wife Giovanni Lombardo Mills of Florida; George Alfred Mills III, and his wife Rebecca Richardson Mills of Morgantown, WV; and several very special nieces and nephews . Rebecca retired after more than 40 years of teaching from the Cabell County Board of Education where she was a member of the Retired Teachers of Cabell County Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Marshall University Alumni Association. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Scleroderma Foundation ; Susan G. Komen Foundation  and the Marshall University Foundation, The Lamina M. Queen Endowment for Graduate Education Research, 1 John Marshall Drive, Huntington, WV 25755. Friends may call from 6pm to 8pm Friday May 10, 2013 and 10am to 11am Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Reger Funeral Home.
