Jack Calvin "Cal" Nelson
(November 113, 1938 - February 9, 2018)



Jack Calvin “Cal” Nelson, 79, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018, at The Village at Riverview. Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, with Pastor Jeff Garrett officiating. He was born November 13, 1938, in Iron Mountain, MI, a son of the late John Cleveland and Evelyn Hassel Nelson. He is survived by his wife, Carol Povolo Nelson; one daughter, and son-in-law, Sherry and Brian Noe of Catawba, NC; one brother, Don Nelson (Kay) of Brighton, MI; one sister, Sally Nelson of Kingsford, MI; two grandsons, Tyler Noe (Nicki), of Colorado Springs, CO; and Aaron Noe (Savanah and Myah Nunez) of Round Lake, IL. Cal served as President of Kanawha Steel Equipment Company, then finished his career as President and Chief Operating Officer of Logan Corporation. He loved spending time at his Ranch, deer hunting, visiting family and sitting outside with his good friend, Don Faherty, solving the problems of the world. He was also a gifted artist and member of Praise Painters. Carol and Sherry would like to express heartfelt gratitude to all the staff members of The Village at Riverview for their compassionate care. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington, P.O Box 464, Huntington, WV, 25709.
