Luther H. Ramey Jr.
(September 19, 1934 - February 7, 2018)



LUTHER H. RAMEY JR., born September 19, 1934, in Wayne County, W.Va., to Mae Spence Ramey and Luther Henry Ramey Sr., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. He was 83 years and 5 months old at his time of passing. He is survived by his wife, Mertie Adkins Ramey of Lesage, W.Va.; daughters, Brenda Sue (Coy) Tolliver, Sherry Diane (Paul) Cremeans, Jennifer Lynn (Don) Moore, Sandra Kay Ramey and Rebecca Ann (Dallas Jr.) Bledsoe; and sister, Bessie Mae Nelson. He was preceded in death by one son, Luther H. Ramey III "Buddy"; brother, Tolliver Ramey; and sister, Linda M. Fry. He has 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five grandchildren. He was a member of the Southfork Old Regular Baptist Church for 36 years, a Deacon for 26 years and a Borrowed Member and Deacon for New Mount Olive Old Regular Baptist Church. He was a truck dispatcher and worked for several companies before retiring. He enjoyed his family and church family and especially liked to travel to the Associations every year. Funeral services were conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Elder Gary Blevins, Elder Preston Lewis and Elder Jimmy Stewart. Burial was private in the Ramey Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
