Julia Ann Shields
(April 18, 1927 - February 13, 2012)

Julia Ann Shields 84, of Huntington, WV, wife of L. Warren Shields, passed away Monday, February 13, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 19, 2012, at River Cities Community Church, with Pastor Larry Greene and Pastor Scott Duncan officiating. Burial and committal service will be 10:00 AM Monday in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. She was born April 18, 1927, in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late George M. and Catherine Offutts Elam. She retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Manufacturing after 38 years of service having worked as the secretary for the plant manager at one time. She was a Charter member of River Cities Community Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and served as youth leader for many years. Survivors in addition to her husband include one son Greg Shields of Huntington; a grandson Alston G. Shields of Raleigh, NC.; one brother, Charles “Boots” Elam of Wilmington, NC; and her loving and faithful dog, Happy Shields. Friends may call one hour prior to service time Sunday at the church.
