Forrest L. Wells
(May 1, 1917 - February 6, 2012)



Forrest L. “Moose” Wells, 94, of Huntington, WV, formerly of Chesapeake, OH, went home to be with his Lord, Monday February 6, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 PM Saturday February 11, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary with Rev. Lovell R. Aills, Rev. James Alley, and Rev. Randy Lavender officiating. Entombment will be in the Christus Chapel, White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Forrest was born May 1, 1917 in Martha, WV, a son of the late Joshua and Maude Bunn Wells. His first wife, Cynthia Jane Wells, preceded him in death as well as a sister, Lorene Aills and two brothers, Woodrow Wells and Verlin Wells. He loved to sing and was an avid gardener, hunter, and carpenter, always doing odd jobs for others. He retired from the C&O Railroad in 1977 after 38 years of service doing repairs on passenger cars. Forrest was saved at the age of 16 at Crook Chapel and was baptized in Four Pole Creek, and is a member of Jackson Avenue Church of God Holiness. Survivors include his wife, Edna Cook Alley Wells of Huntington; five daughters, Darlene Anderson of Huntington, Brenda Poff of Proctorville, OH, Rebecca Gregg of Candler, NC, Nancy Gossett of Leicester, NC, and Tonya Wells of Palm Harbor, FL; five sons, Eugene Wells of Proctorville, OH, Forrest Wells of Wheelersburg, OH, Charles Wells of Chesapeake, OH, Marc Wells of Columbus, OH, and Tony Wells of Chesapeake, OH; three step children, Rev. James Alley of Huntington, Charles R. Alley of Proctorville, OH, and Arlene Alley Roy of Huntington; 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and special friends. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington.
