Helen Jean King
(February 24, 1930 - March 1, 2014)


Helen Jean King, 84, of Huntington, WV, died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Heritage Center. Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 PM Friday March 7, 2014 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington, with Pastor Basil R. Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Helen was born February 24, 1930 in Carter County, Ky, a daughter of the late Cecil & Pearl Jones Adams. She was retried from the Cabell County Health Department and a member of the 26th St. Baptist Church. Her husband, James R. King and two brothers, Paul & Chester Adams, preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, James Michael King & wife Kathryn of Richmond, VA, Jeffrey L. King of Huntington, three grandchildren, Matthew Adam King & wife Liz of Richmond, Daniel Castle King of Los Angeles, Ca, Madeline Sarah King Akers & husband Jody of Floyd, Va, one great-granddaughter, Molly Summer Akers, two sisters, Jay Claxon & husband Jessie of Grayson, Ky, Betty Standley of Hichins, Ky, and one brother Jack Adams of Ironton, Oh. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Center for all their loving care. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary after 11:00 AM Friday.
