Keith D. Ray
(December 4, 1926 - March 29, 2014)



Keith D. Ray, 87, of Lavalette, WV, died Saturday March 29, 2014 at Grayson Assisted Living. Funeral service will be conducted 3:00 PM Tuesday April 1, 2014 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with the Rev. Susan Leonard-Ray officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Keith was born December 4, 1926 in Lavalette, WV a son of the late Oren & Gayenelle Dunkle Ray. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII, a member of the Lavalette United Methodist Church, VFW Post 1064, Past Commander of Wayne Blue Lodge #18, American Legion Post 93 of Kenova, BPOE #313, and former Wayne County Sheriff. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma Lee Ray, one sister, Linda Jeanette Ray & one brother, Oren Clyde Ray. Survivors include one daughter, Terry Fink & husband Michael of Lavalette, one son, Keith D. Ray II & wife Susan of Clemson, SC, four grandchildren, Julia Moore of Lavalette, Rebecca, Jonathan & Elizabeth Ray all of Clemson. Family request to give charitable gifts to Hospice of Huntington or a charity of one’s choice. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary after 1:00 PM until service time on Tuesday.
