Obituary

Everett Nugen, Jr.
(November 5, 1928 - March 13, 2014)


EVERETT NUGEN JR., passed away March 13, 2014. He was born in South Charleston, W.Va., on November 5, 1928. Everett served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a graduate of the School of Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a retiree of the Corps of Engineers in Huntington, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Alma Nugen; his loving wife of 57 years, Rose Agnes Nugen; his sister, Betty Cutlip; and brother, David Nugen. He is survived by two daughters, Donna Nugen of Columbus, Ohio, Charlene DeBord of Huntington, W.Va.; and one granddaughter, Jessica Burns of Huntington, W.Va. A memorial service will be conducted 4:00 pm Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Corey Adkins officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 4:00 pm Saturday at Chapman’s Mortuary. Military rites will be conducted by Veterans Honor Guard Post 16. His remains will be placed at Mountain View Memorial Park, Richwood, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mount Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215-1039.
