Billy I. Reed

Billy Irvin Reed 80, of Huntington, WV passed away Monday, March 17, 2014, in the Emmogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Born August 16, 1933 in Barboursville, WV. One of sixteen children. Served his country in the Korean War, Air Force Division. Retired postal clerk from the Huntington Post Office. Member of the Lewis Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Judith Sue Reed, daughter Kelly (husband David) Altany, son Perry (wife LeAnna) Reed, daughter Kerry Tanner, adopted daughter Tammy Bird, son Bill Reed, adopted son Tim Thomas, grandchildren Jonathan and Kate Altany, sisters Emma Crum, Esta Reed, Marcella Mays, Joan McCoy, brother Jay Reed, and special nephews Robin (wife Anne) Reed and Brett Reed, and brother-in-law Dr. Michael (wife Kathy) Via. Bill will be remembered for his determination, strength, kindness, quick wit and passion for golf. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, March 21, 2014, in the White Chapel Mausoleum, Barboursville, with Pastor Richard Sexton officiating. Entombment will follow with military graveside rites conducted by Veterans Honor Guard Post 16, Huntington.
