Obituary



Doris Genevieve "Jane" Chapman 90, of Huntington, widow of Basil E. Chapman, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 at The Village Inn at Riverview. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington, with Pastor Phil Wilson officiating. Entombment will be in the White Chapel Mausoleum, Barboursville. She was born January 23, 1925, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Morton H. and Zuma Roberts Grimes. In addition to her parents and husband, two sisters, Betty Yoho and Mary Myers, one brother M.H. Grimes, Jr., a daughter Orlinda Lou Chapman, and a granddaughter, Amber Chapman also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of Harmony United Methodist Church. Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Randy Hunt of Barboursville; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Roger D. and Elizabeth Chapman of Barboursville, Steven B. and Linda M. Chapman of Gallipolis, OH, and Terry L. and Linda L. Chapman of Barboursville; 10 grandchildren, Duane Chapman, Benjamin Chapman, Kelly-Jo McCaulla, Shayna Chapman, Joshua Chapman, Christopher Chapman, Jeffrey Chapman, Jason Michael Hunt, Paul David Hunt, and Jeremy Hunt; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Dawson of Huntington. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 Monday at the funeral home.
