Kenneth Phil Dillon, 90, of Chesapeake, Ohio, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at his home with his daughter at his bedside. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 2:00pm at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, WV. Reverend Bill DeMoss and Reverend Steve Hamrick will conduct services. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, West Virginia, with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 640. Kenneth was born January 10, 1925, in Gallia County, Ohio, he is the son of the late Delbert and Bertha Dillon. He attended Community of Grace United Methodist Church in Huntington, West Virginia. He proudly served his country in both World War II and the Korean War. He owned and operated the SOHIO gas station in Chesapeake, Ohio, for over 50 years. He was a member of the Chesapeake Lions Club, The American Legion Post 0640 Ohio, lifetime member of the Elks, and a member for over 20 years of the Ohio Southern Southeastern Track Association and served as president of the association. He loved track and field and served as a track and field official for local high schools and Marshall University for many years. In addition to his parents and sister, his wife, Rosemary of 66 years, preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Willard Steve Waggoner of Chesapeake, Ohio; and two grandchildren that he cherished and whom cherished him, Sarah Rose Nibert and her husband, Dr. Dallas Nibert of Huntington, West Virginia and Seth Dillon Waggoner, of Naples, Florida. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Ronald McDonald House of Huntington, West Virginia. Visitation will be Friday, January 8, 2016, from 6:00-8:00pm at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, West Virginia.
