Vesta V. Billups Lawhorn, 92, of Proctorville, OH, died Sunday October 16, 2016 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday October 19, 2016 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Rev. Bobby G. Belcher officiating. Burial will be in Crook Cemetery. Vesta was born April 11, 1924 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Ballard and Tina Trixy Roach Dick. She retired from the former F.W. Means and was a member of the Bowen Ridge Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ozzie Dick Billups and her second husband William Howard Lawhorn. Survivors include two sons, Henry (Eleanor Willis) Billups of Columbus, IN, and Jeffrey (Theresa) Billups of Chesapeake, OH, three grandchildren, Erika Billups (Joe) Sheridan of Cincinnati, OH, Crisiten (Jason) Grimes of Crawfordville, FL, and Cassie (Ronny) Clark of Proctorville, OH, eight great grandchildren, Michael and Thomas Sheridan of Cincinnati, Camryn, J.J. and Caroline Grimes of Crawfordville, and Addison and Asher Maynard and Layne Clark all of Proctorville. Pallbearers will be Bobby Belcher, Ronny Clark, J.J. Jamison, Thomas Belcher, Brandon Dalton, Zachery Belcher and Randy Ferris and honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Allen and Michael Jeffery Sheridan, Asher Maynard and Layne Clark. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington for all their loving care. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Wednesday October 19, 2016 at the funeral home.
