(January 30, 1936 - December 9, 2014)



PERLIE RAY JEFFERS, 78, of Barboursville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by the Rev. Jody Thompson. Burial will be in Morrison Cemetery. He was born January 30, 1936, in Lincoln County, W.Va., a son of the late Emmitt and Effie Dean Jeffers. He was retired from Kerr Glass Company and was a member of Salem United Baptist Church whose members were like family to him. He was also preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Akers Jeffers, one son, Michael Ray Jeffers, two sisters, Betty and Goldie and two brothers, Buck and Golden. He is survived by three daughters, Kathy (Carmie) Parsons of Barboursville, Donna (Greg) Mullins of Ona, W.Va., and Tammy (Jonathan) Martin of Barboursville, W.Va., who took wonderful care of him; grandchildren Heather (James) McConnell, David (Amy) Johnson, Daniel Jeffers, Christopher (Melissa) Jeffers, Tasha (Randy) Mers, Elizabeth (Jerry) Sowards, Joshua (Emily) Fugate, and Sean (Morgan) Fugate; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Talan, Cooper, Ethan, Dominik, Ian, Jaydin, Kirsten, Ryan, Renee, Darren, Hollie, Gracie and Kinley; one sister, Jewell (Buddy) Cremeans; and three brothers, Dock (Von) Jeffers, Andrew "Toug" (Dolly) Jeffers and Grady (Mary) Jeffers. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington for their care and support. "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."
