Max Wendell Mays
(December 3, 1934 - December 26, 2014)


Max Wendell Mays, 80, of Barboursville, went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2014, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born December 3, 1934, in Cabell County, a son of the late Gene Mays and Phoebe Heis Mays McComas. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Mays. He was retired from State Electric and he attended Gloryway Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Peggy Ann Mills Mays; three sons and their spouses, Rick and Sherry Mays of Hartville, OH, Greg Mays of Barboursville, and Wendell and Debra Mays of Barboursville; two sisters, Kay and Joyce of Ohio; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor David Cardwell. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House and Rev. David and Dorothy Cardwell for all their care and support.
