Violet JoAnn Adkins
October 22, 1937 - March 15, 2009



Violet JoAnn Adkins, 71, of Huntington, WV, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009, in Saint Mary's Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Richard Sexton officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born October 22, 1937 in Cabell County, WV a daughter of the late Ellis and Dora Lucas Keaton. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Adkins; three sons, Stanley B. Adkins, Gregory S. Adkins, and David L. Adkins; two sisters, Dorothy Coyle and Ann Wellman; and a grandson, Jonathan B. Adkins II. JoAnn was a retired home healthcare provider and was a Methodist by faith. Survivors include: two sons, John Adkins of Huntington and Doug Adkins of Salt Rock, WV; three brothers, James Keaton of Huntington, Ellis Keaton, Jr. of Richmond, VA, and Albert Keaton of Columbus, OH; a sister, Connie Rito of Hampton, VA; four grandchildren, Christopher L. Adkins of St. Albans, WV, David Lee Paulin of Barboursville, WV, Joshua A. Adkins of St. Albans, and April L. Nesselrotte of Marmet, WV; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Chapman's Mortuary.
