Carl Edward Lafon
August 6, 1935 - February 27, 2009

Carl Edward Lafon, 73, of Huntington, widower of Helen Lafon, passed away Friday February 27, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, March 2, 2009, at the Norway Avenue Church of Christ, with Pastor Chuck Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Carl was born August 6, 1935 in Huntington, a son of the late Gilbert and Effie Dell Pine Lafon. He was a retired clerk for C.S.X. Transportation in the Baltimore area. He was a member of Christ Temple Church. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Ann Edge, Velma Damron, Norma Hughes, and Ruby I. Lafon, who passed away on the same day and will be sharing funeral services with him on Monday; and two brothers, Raymond Lafon and Kip Lafon. Survivors include his son, "C J" Carl Edward Lafon, Jr. of Huntington, a sister, Margaret Spaulding of Huntington; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Shirley Lafon of Palm Bay, FL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Donations may be sent to the American Heart Association in his name. Friends may call after 12:30 PM Monday until service time at Norway Avenue Church of Christ.
