Garland Wilbur Lockhart
September 25, 1927 - February 27, 2009



Garland Wilbur Lockhart, 81, of Huntington, widower of Wanda Joy Lockhart, passed away Friday February 27, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 PM Sunday March 1, 2009 at Chapman's Mortuary with Pastor Danny Young officiating. Burial with Military Graveside Rites conducted by VFW Post 1064, will be in Bowen Cemetery. Garland was born September 25, 1927 in Cabell County, WV, a son of the late Snyder and Mary Bias Lockhart. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Garland was a member of Green Valley Bible Baptist Church, was retired from C.S.X. as a clerk, and had worked formerly in heating and cooling with Scott-Sullivan Inc. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Jim Chapman of Huntington, and Beverly and Fred McDonald of Bridgeport, WV; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger D. and Lois A. Lockhart of Huntington; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Lockhart and his wife, Aurelia, and Lindsay D. Smith and Carey Smith, all of Huntington; a great grandchild, Ian Ward of Huntington; a sister-in-law, Mary Lockhart of Huntington; a niece and her husband, Paula and John Saunders of Huntington; and two nephews, Jerry Lockhart of Huntington and Mark Lockhart of Chesapeake, OH.  Friends may call after 1:00 PM until service time Sunday at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington.
