Denver Lee McChristian, 73, of Huntington, passed away Saturday February 28, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington with Rev. Greg Dial officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Cemetery, Cabell County. He was born November 2, 1935, in Lincoln County, WV, a son of the late Frank and Fern Jeffers McChristian. Two sisters, Avie Wright and Geneva Martin also preceded him in death. He was a heavy equipment operator for both Tassen and Turman Construction Companies. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jarrell McChristian; four children, Kathy Early, Patrick McChristian, Mindie Higginbotham and Allenia Peters; three stepchildren, Charles Conner, Greta Rowe and Darlene Conner; two sisters, Pauline Tripplet, and Dorothy Adkins; a brother-in-law and his wife, Gene and Judy Jarrell; a sister-in-law and her husband, Dinah and Donald Bragg, and a sister-in-law, Delores Jarrell; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from noon to service time Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help offset funeral expenses.
