Frances Montroso Back
November 2, 1932 - March 15, 2009



Frances Bova Montroso Back, 76, of Huntington, WV, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 at her residence. Funeral liturgy will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday March 17, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Huntington, with Monsignor Lawrence Luciana and Father Julian Marneni officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Frances was born November 2, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York a daughter of the late Frank and Theresa Muschera Bova. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Montroso; her second husband, Harold Lloyd "Jiggs" Back; and a sister, Theresa Wilgus. Frances was always known for her radiant smile and bright beautiful eyes. She was a longtime devoted parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a retired beautician owning Frances' Beauty Salon in the 1960's. She was a former member of bowling leagues, attended The Christian Women's Club, Appalachian Retiree Organization and enjoyed life being an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa and Joe McCain of Huntington and Tina Chaput of Louisville, KY; two step sons and a daughter-in-law, Jim Back of Huntington and Charles and Natalie Back of East Haven, CT; a step daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Herb Shrieves of Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Roberta Bova of Proctorville, OH; special cousins, Marianne and Bob Williams, Jim and Delsey Muschera, and David Muschera, all of Huntington; three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, and special friends. The family wishes to express a special thanks to longtime caregivers and friends, Donna Stewart, Maureen Mick, and Erin Mick. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Monday and after 9:30 AM Tuesday at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington.
