Carrie Burslem, 102, of Huntington, passed away Friday, August 7, 2015 at her residence. She was born April 20, 1913 in East Lynn, WV a daughter of the late Hisel and Rosa Preston Adkins. Her first husband, Estol Arbogast; her second husband, Albert Burslem; a son, Charles Roger Arbogast; two sisters, Zuma Berry and Minnie Reynolds; and two brothers, Lyle Adkins and Homer Adkins, also preceded her in death. She was a teacher for Kanawha County Schools and was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in St. Albans, WV. Survivors include a son, Allen Arbogast of Huntington; three grandchildren, Kathryn Arbogast of Georgia, Jenny Ruberto and her husband, Lou of Ohio, and Paul A. Arbogast and his wife, Adrianna of Colorado; two great grandchildren, Dodge Arbogast and Murina Arbogast; and a daughter-in-law, Margaret Rose Arbogast of Stanardsville, VA. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family with cremation and private services. Donations may be made to the Huntington Area Food bank in her name.
