Obituary

Robert Granville Cazad, 83, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015, in Huntington Health and Rehabilitation. He was born November 10, 1931 in Huntington a son of the late John and Beulah Marie Caldwell Cazad. He was a retired engineer with INCO and was a graduate of Marshall University. He was a longstanding member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He traveled around the world. He valued experiences over objects and people above all. He loved God, culture food and his family with abandon. The world has lost such an interesting, humble and adorably awkward man, but he couldn't have lived better. We will miss his warm smile and his stories, as he has left us with so many beautiful stories of our own. The family thanks you for your love, prayers and support at this time of sorrow. Survivors include: his wife, Margaret Davis Cazad; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary and Tina Cazad of Statesville, NC and Mark Cazad of Huntington; two step sons, Charles Spurlock and his wife, Peggy of Largo, FL and Steven Spurlock of Milton, WV; a step daughter, Susan Chapman of Huntington; seven grandchildren, Christie, Kim, Heather, Chuck, Kristin, Sarah and Benjamin; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Cross Roads United Methodist Church with Pastor Joseph Hill and Pastor Bill DeMoss officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 pm Saturday at the church. Remembrances to Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 3146 Saltwell road, Huntington, WV 25705 or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th. Floor, New York, NY 10001. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
