Sam Butcher
(August 12, 1948 - August 11, 2014)



Sam Butcher, 65, of Grayson, Kentucky, graduated to Heaven on Monday, August 11, 2014 at King's Daughters Medical Center. He was born August 12, 1948, in Logan County, WV, a son of the late Ray and Juanita Null Butcher. He was a US Army veteran, a retired employee of Steel of West Virginia, and he attended Sandy Acres Baptist Church of Altoona, Florida. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert Butcher and a special brother-in-law, Dannie Lee Withrow. He is survived by his wife, Linda Withrow Butcher; one daughter and son-in-law, Shona and Michael Johnston of Catlettsburg, KY; one grandson, Brady Johnston; his mother-in-law, Sophie Withrow of Grayson, Ky; one sister, Natalie (Don) Ellison of Indiana; three brothers, Zibe (Rosie) Butcher of Texas; Dennis (Judy) Butcher and Joseph (Gail) Butcher, all of Huntington, WV; one sister-in-law, Norma Withrow and her daughter Carley Perkins; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and neighbors. Special pallbearers will be Brady Johnston and Rylan Baumgarner. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Dr. David Lemming and Pastor Gene Tester. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sandy Acres Baptist Church Bus Ministry, P.O. Box 298, Altoona, Florida 32702.
