Obituary

Lottie Messinger
(March 19, 1911 - August 31, 2014)

Lottie Messinger, 103, of Branchland, WV, went home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2014. She was born March 19, 1911, in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late Henry Adkins and Gertrude Wroten Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Messinger; one son, Hubert Lee Messinger; one great- granddaughter, Tonya McCarthy and one great-great- granddaughter, Haven McCarthy. She is survived by one daughter, Clodeen Messinger of Branchland; one son, Orba Messinger of Branchland; one brother, Edison Adkins of Proctorville, OH; five grandchildren, Roger Dale Messinger, Linda McCarthy, Sharon Uphold, Letha Stapleton, and Lisa Dillon; several great and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Jimmy Adams. Burial will be in Branchland Cemetery.
