ALMA IRENE EDWARDS
(September 4, 1925 - August 24, 2014)



ALMA IRENE EDWARDS, 88, of Barboursville, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel by the Rev. Steve Hensley. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Alma was born September 4, 1925, in Proctorville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Elmer A. and Maude Henderson Ferguson. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Huntington. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Paul E. Edwards; three daughters, Paula (Dennis) Noice of Estero, Florida, Sherri (Bill) Jones of Granger, Indiana, and Sharon (Brian) Riley of Barboursville; one sister, Vernena Smith of Proctorville, Ohio; one grandson, Matthew (Ashley) Riley of Charlottesville, Va.; one great-grandson, Carter Riley; and a lifelong friend, Kay Bunn of Huntington. Alma was a thoughtful, caring women, a loving Wife, a wonderful Mother and Grandmother, an expert seamstress, and made the best apple pie. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington or Alzheimer Association - West Virginia Chapter.
