JAMES HARLAN PARSONS
(May 19, 1943 - August 2, 2014)



JAMES HARLAN PARSONS, 71, of Barboursville, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, by Dr. Tim Yates. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. He was born May 19, 1943, in Logan, W.Va., a son of the late Dennis Earl and Gertrude Marcum Parsons. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lina Bilka and Jewell King; and one brother, Danny Parsons. He was a member of the Minerva Lodge # 13 A. F. and A.M., Barboursville, and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Baisden Parsons; one daughter, Karen Koerner of Barboursville; two brothers, Dennis Earl Parsons Jr. and Phillip Parsons, both of Delbarton; and one grandson, Caleb Koerner. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Chateau Grove Nursing Home, nursing staff on 3rd floor at St. Mary's Medical Center, Dr. Rita Gandhy, Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House and Lewis Memorial Baptist Church for their visitation and support. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702. Minerva Lodge #13, A. F and A. M. will conduct masonic graveside services.
