James Daniel Gibson
(August 15, 1951 - January 14, 2017)



James Daniel Gibson, 65, of Huntington, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 14, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born August 15, 1951 in Huntington, a son of the late James Alex Gibson and Mary Jo Partlow Gibson, he was preceded in death by one brother Delbert “Razzy” Gibson. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Retired from Mountaineer Gas after 37 years of service, he is survived by his loving wife Brenda Van Way Gibson; two sons, James David Gibson and Deanna Vanover, John Michael Gibson and his wife Jennifer; two sisters, Marie Peters and husband Mike, Elaine Blake and husband Brent; sister-in-law, Sherry Gibson; brothers-in-law, Carl and Claude Van Way; six grandchildren, James “JP”, Britiny, Jordyn, Jamie, Jason and Hunter; two great grandchildren, Gracie and Rowan; close cousins and friends, Frank and Barb Dillon and Charlie McCoy as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends from Mountaineer Gas. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville with Bishop Gary Carico officiating. Burial will follow in Bowen Cemetery, Huntington, WV. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
