Philip Roy Herrold
(July 15, 1932 - October 19, 2017)



Philip Roy Herrold, 85, of Barboursville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Midland Meadows Senior Living. Phil was born July 15, 1932, in Marion, IN, a son of the late George and Janet Harris Herrold. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Herrold. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Burrell Herrold; former wife and mother of their children, Barbara Herrold; two sons, Philip (Sandra) Herrold, Jr., William “Bill” (Vada) Herrold; three daughters, Suzanne (Michael) Meadows, Kathy (David) Nershi, Janine (Michael) White; two stepsons, Philip (Crystal) Niebergall II, and Eugene (Angie) Niebergall; stepdaughter, Tamara (Clay) Cochrane; one sister, Natalie (Robert) Stoelting; one brother, Stephen Herrold; sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Phil was a graduate of Huntington High School and Marshall University, and served his country in the US Air Force. He owned and operated the Barboursville Insurance Agency. For many years, Phil was an avid golfer, hunter and Marshall sports fan. Phil was a member of the Barboursville Lions Club, the Thundertones Barbershop Chorus, the Collis P. Huntington Historical Railroad Society, Big Green and M Club at Marshall, and a member of Steele Memorial United Methodist Church. The family wishes to extend many thanks to staff members of Village Caregiving, Hospice of Huntington, and Midland Meadows Senior Living for their gracious and loving care. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Kevin Lantz. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington.
