Carl L. Browning

Carl L. Browning, 86, of Huntington, WV, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 21, 2014, after a long illness. He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Margaret Patrick Browning; brother, William “Bill” Browning and his wife Deannie; and grandson, Jeffrey Scott Davis. His is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Donna Browning Gregory and her husband, Daniel, of Knoxville, TN; a son, Mr. Rickey L. Browning and his wife, Cynthia, of Myrtle Beach, SC; and a brother, Raymond “Ray” Browning and his wife, Margie, of Huntington, WV. He was also a loving grandfather to four surviving grandchildren: Mark Browning and his wife, Janet; Chrissey Davis Stephens and husband, Joey; Wendy Davis Bilek; and Laura Browning Rohrer and husband, Michael, as well as fifteen great grandchildren.  Carl was an active member of the Trinity Church of God, as well as The Grand Lodge of WV, AF & AM, Western Star Lodge No. 11, Guyandotte, WV, and a proud member of the Marine Corps League No. 340. He retired in 1987 from the C&O Railroad where he worked as a Boiler Maker.  The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8 PM on Friday, November 28, 2014, at Chapman’s Mortuary, 2851 3rd Avenue, Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Chapman’s Mortuary, the Reverend Ken Toler officiating. Interment will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery.
