Obituary

George Irvin Early
(June 3, 1927 - November 26, 2014)


George Irvin Early, 87, of Ashland, KY, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday November 26, 2014 from the Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland. He was born June 3, 1927 in Huntington, WV, the son of the late Charles and Golda Banks Early. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. His brothers were John, Bill, Ralph, Bob, and Dick; and sisters were Evelyn Early Chapman, and Edith Early Ginger. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Lois Wheeler Peterson Early of Ashland; one son, George Michael Early of Tampa, FL; several grandchildren, Timothy, II, Brianne, Tad and wife, Christy; a great grandchild, Adelyn Noel; and many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. He will be missed by all! He was a WW II Army Veteran, and worked 39 years as a meat cutter with Giant Food Stores in Maryland. George loved music and was also able to express himself on canvas as an artist. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday December 1, 2014 at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Keith Katterheinrich officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may visit the family after 1:00 pm Monday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
