Dorothy May "Dot" McCoy
(April 14, 1931 - November 19, 2014)


Dorothy May “Dot” McCoy, 83, of Huntington, wife of James I. McCoy died Wednesday, November 19, 2014, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, November 24, 2014, at the Community of Grace United Methodist Church, Huntington, WV, with Pastor Steven Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. “Dot” was born April 14, 1931, in Point Pleasant, WV, a daughter of the late Howard and Bessie Marshall Greenlee. Her daughter-in-law, Mary Marlene McCoy; four sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death. She was a retired Teacher’s Aide for the Cabell County Board of Education. Dot was a member of the Community of Grace United Methodist Church, where she participated in the Women’s Circle and the card ministry. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, and was a former Girl Scout leader as well as a Cub Scout leader. Additional survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Diane Lynn and James T. Gould of Kodiak, AK; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James D. and Teresa L McCoy of Columbus, OH, Carl R. and Cathy McCoy of Huntington, and Ronald M. McCoy of Kennewick, WA; seven grandchildren, 14, great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. The family wishes that donations in her name are made to the Community of Grace United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Friends may visit with family 4:00-7:00 pm Sunday at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, and after 10:00 am Monday at the church.
