Donald Lewis Davis
(March 28, 1930 - November 9, 2014)



Donald Lewis Davis 84 of Barboursville WV, formerly of Huntington, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 9, 2014. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, March 28, 1930 to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis A. Davis. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Doris E. Smith Davis of Barboursville, WV. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, William David (Brenda) Davis of Milton, WV, and three children: Dr. Mark A. (Myranda) Davis, D.C. of Bluffton, SC; Karen G. Davis of Barboursville, WV; and Steven W. (Brenda) Davis of Winfield, IL; Also, four grandchildren: Blake (Jami) Davis of White Sulphur Springs, WV; Erik Alan Davis of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Megan Davis of Winfield, IL; and Phil Davis of Winfield, IL. Mr. Davis graduated in 1948 from Huntington East High School, where he was a quarterback of the football team and co-captain of the basketball team. He was honored to be a member of the Huntington East High School State Championship in 1947. Mr. Davis attended Miami University of Ohio, and Marshall University. He served in the US Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War. After leaving the Army, he joined his father in the family business, Davis Wholesale in Huntington, WV. Mr. Davis went on to own several Qwik Stop Convenience stores in the tri-state area. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Davis specifically requested no flowers and a private ceremony at the convenience of the family.
