Wesley Bruce McGuffin, 24, of Huntington, WV, Our precious Son, Brother, and Grandson, received his new Heavenly body and angel wings on Tuesday August 30, 2016 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Wesley was born into a big loving family on March 13, 1992. From his first breath he warmed the hearts of all of those he knew throughout his life. Wesley began his schooling at Davis Creek Elementary attending Cabell County public schools, Spring Valley High School, Graduating from Huntington High School in 2013. Wesley service will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday September 2, 2016 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Pastor J. Andrew Magnusson, of Baptist Temple and Dr. Mark Connor of First United Methodist Church all of Huntington. People often use the phrase "they lost the battle or their battle" when speaking of death .However, Wes didn't lose his battle, he WON! For, you see he had limitations here on earth and now he has absolutely NO limitations of the things he can do, with his new perfect body. God, we give you the glory for all you do and have done in Wesley's life, we thank you for his life, for he was your child. Wesley was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bruce and Dorothy McGuffin and his maternal great great-grandmother Anna (Lewis) Spurlock. Those he leaves behind for now, are his parents Richard N. McGuffin and Sarah N. (Stacy) Spurlock of Huntington, his brothers, William A. and Samuel A. McGuffin of Huntington, his niece Emily Ann McGuffin of Barboursville. Grandparents, M. Dennis Stacy, Yvonne (Spurlock) and Danna Sargent, great grandparents, William S. "Bill" and Gertrude Spurlock all of Huntington. Wes' uncles Mike McGuffin of Proctorville, Chris, Tom and Lloyd McGuffin all of Huntington, Michael Stacy and Josh Reed of South Point. Special great aunt and Uncle Amy Jo and Jim Conley, Sam and Christy Spurlock all of Huntington. His special friend Ashley (Hudson) Pennington of South Point, OH. Wesley has many cousins, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Pallbearers will be his cousins, Nick and Alex Conley, Brad and Marc Maynard, Owen Spurlock and Uncle Josh Reed. Wesley's family would like to especially thank the ICU 4th floor nurses of Cabell Huntington Hospital Cassy, Jessica, Chris and Beth also Doctors and staff for the love, care, compassion and concern you gave to Wesley. Those who took care of him at the Genesis Nursing Facility, Betsy Broh and his teachers from Cabell and Wayne County Special Ed Dept. all of Wes' care givers over the years for the wonderful care you gave. There are simply too many to list. Last but not least his Sunday school teachers at Baptist Temple, Thank you! Visitation was from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday September 1, 2016 at Chapman's Mortuary.
