Obituary



Michael K. Belcher, 42, of Huntington WV, passed away June 18, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital from long term medical conditions. He was born June 2, 1975 in Huntington, WV, the son of Martha Gwyn and Terry Belcher.  Michael graduated from Huntington High School in 1994 and was the captain of the football team. He attended Marshall University where was part of the 94-95 Thundering Herd. He was a member of Orchard Hills golf club and Huntington bowling association. Michael was an avid bowler and bowled multiple 300 games. He also played baseball and was a great coach and umpire for little league baseball and softball. Michael had a great love for music, he was an amazing drummer and taught himself to play guitar. Above all Michael's greatest love was his daughter Emily.  Michael was proceeded in death by his grandfather Jimmy Jordan Jr. and his brother Charles (Charlie) Belcher.  Michael is survived by his mother Martha Gwyn; his stepfather Thomas Gwyn; his grandmother June Jordan; his daughter Emily Belcher and his lifelong partner and friend Brooke Snider.  Michael had a long hard journey and fought a good fight, may his next journey be peaceful. Fly high my friend.  Arrangements are being handled by Chapman's Mortuary. There will be a celebration of life gathering Thursday June, 22nd from 6pm-8pm.
