James Herbert "Jim" Chapman, 82, of Huntington, WV, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at his residence. He was born October 16, 1934 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Okey and Elmo Marie Ashworth Chapman. Jim received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Marshall University and a Master's degree from Florida State. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force and was the owner and operator of Chapman Development. Survivors include: his wife, Brenda Lockhart Chapman; a daughter, Lindsay Smith and her fiancé Brett Mount; two grandsons, Brayden and Bryson Smith; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bev and Fred McDonald. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Brady Lipscomb officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to noon Saturday at the funeral home.
