Mr. Bennett (Benny) F. Hosey, 76, of Huntington, died on Thursday January 23, 2014 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Jerry Chapman. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Teays Valley, WV. Benny was born on May 18, 1937 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Walter and Sarah Moses Hosey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two brothers: David L. Hosey and Charles H. Hosey and two sisters: Mary White and Lucille Burcham. He is survived by one brother: Thomas I. Hosey and three sisters: Louise Perdue, Madelyn Hosey and Lilah Mae Copley, also twenty nieces and nephews. Benny was a retired pipefitter from Johnson Controls and a proud veteran of the US Navy. Also an avid car collector of antique cars, he spent hours in his garage visiting with friends. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to help a stranger. He was loved by all and was blessed to have so many neighbors that were there to help at drop of a hat. Friends include Pete Brunty, Fred Sansom, Danny May, Bernie Gray, Mike Oxler, Jim Hardy Chris Casey, Bernard Hampton, Sarah and Tara and many more and his two loving cats Funny Face and Possum he loved and cared for. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Huntington and especially Dr. Kimmey for the care and support throughout this difficult journey. Friends may call from 5-7 pm Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Reger Funeral Home.
