In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mitchell Metz, son A. Daniel Metz II, and 7 siblings. He is survived by son Timothy H. Metz and his wife, The Rev. Darla J. Metz of Tiffin, OH; daughter-in-law Kathie B. Metz of Cockeysville, MD; sister Joyce M. Flora; grandchildren Michael J and Amy Metz, William J. and Amy M. Voytek, Joseph D. and Carrie Metz, Christopher Metz, Roger and Misty M. Essinger, Nate and Ashley M. Flugga, Wesley Dirmeyer, Anthony and Lindsey M. Stanfield, and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by niece and special care-givers Patty Sue and Rick Edmunds of Proctorville, OH.
