David Richard Thompson

David Richard Thompson 65, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away Tuesday July 2, 2013, at home. A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington, with Pastor Brian Ross officiating. At his request David was cremated. He was born January 4, 1948, in Lavalette, WV, a son of the late Roscoe B. and Irlenna Bowen Thompson. One brother, Rocky Thompson also preceded him in death. He retired from the housekeeping department of the Lakin State Hospital, and was Baptist by faith. Survivors include three daughters, Amy Beth Thompson, Amber Dawn Thompson and Amanda Jo Thompson all of Point Pleasant, WV; Mary Thompson the mother of his children also of Point Pleasant; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jerry Booth of Huntington; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Sam Thompson of Huntington, Mike and Linda Thompson of Proctorville, OH, and Gary and Connie Thompson of Huntington; one sister-in-law, Lenore Thompson also of Huntington; one granddaughter, Marly Thompson of Point Pleasant; family friend, Daniel Roach of Letart, WV and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
