Kathryn Dodrill
(January 17, 1927 - June 22, 2013)


Kathryn Swesey Dodrill, 86, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Bob Hogsett officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Huntington. She was born January 17, 1927 in Parkersburg, WV a daughter of the late George M. and Nellie P. Swesey. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Arvil V. Dodrill, Jr. She has two loving sons, D. Scott Dodrill (his wife Jennifer) of Homosassa, FL and T. Kirk Dodrill (his wife Lisa) of Huntington; four adoring grandchildren, Miranda Mullins-Dodrill, Paige Dodrill, and Kane Dodrill, all of Huntington and Eric Dodrill (his wife Melissa) of Washington, PA; and one great grandson, Callen Elliott Dodrill. They will miss their “M”. Kathryn was a graduate of West Virginia University and was an avid fan her entire life. She retired in 1985 after having taught math at Dunbar High School, Enslow Jr. High School, and Huntington East High School. She was a lifelong member of Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Honorary. She loved her family as they loved her, she will be held in our hearts forever. You will be missed beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, June 24, 2013, at Chapman’s Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702.
