Hubert Ernest Midkiff
(July 11, 1919 - June 15, 2013)



Hubert Ernest Midkiff, 93 years old, of Huntington, WV, died Saturday June 15, 2013, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 PM Wednesday June 19, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary with Pastor Mike Tabor officiating. Burial with military graveside rites conducted by WV Honor Guard Post 16, will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. He was born July 11, 1919 in Branchland, WV, a son of the late Will and Sarah Ellen Madden Midkiff. He retired from INCO Alloys with over 36 years service. He also was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Philippines during WW II, and attended Eighteenth Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1998, Velva Turley Midkiff; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Charles Clay; son-in-law, Lowell (Ronnie) Bird; three sisters, Amy Midkiff, Birdie Esque, and Mildred Childers; and four brothers, Levi, Lon, Emory, and Robert Midkiff. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ernest D. and Carolyn Midkiff of Huntington; two daughters and a son-in-law, Charlene and Howard Pauley of Old Town, FL, and Elizabeth Bird of Huntington; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV. 25702. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington.
