Jessie James Armstrong, 53, of Milton, husband of Loretta Lynn Armstrong, died Thursday July 17, 2014 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born December 3, 1960, in Madison, WV, a son of the late Harvey James and Vircie Alice Canterbury Armstrong Griffith. He was a former automobile mechanic and attended Church of God Holiness. In addition to his wife survivors include his daughter, Vircie Marie Armstrong; two sons, Jessie Allen Armstrong, and Gary James Armstrong, all living at home; a stepdaughter, Billie Jean Clark of Teays Valley; a granddaughter, Tristen Alexander Clark; two sisters, Betty McCallister of Charleston, WV, and Loretta Wilie of Mississippi; and a brother. Rev. Elmer Armstrong of Alpena, MI. Memorial services will be conducted 3:00 pm Tuesday July 22, 2014, at the Church of God Holiness; 1215 Washington Ave. Milton, with Pastor Vernon Wallace officiating. Inurnment will occur at a later date in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Lincoln County, WV. Friends may visit after 2:00 pm Tuesday at the church. Chapman’s Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
