Jeffery "Scott" Coughenour

Jeffery “Scott” Coughenour,
50yrs old of Huntington, WV, went to be with his Heavenly Father July 22,
2014. Scott was the adoring father of his daughter, Kenna Nicole “Nikki”
Coughenour, and proud, loving grandfather “Baboo” of Gianna Gabriella
Coughenour. Preceding him to Heaven was his father Charles Kenneth
Coughenour, step-father John Michael Murphy, maternal aunt Suellen Bowen, as
well as, maternal grandparents Ralph and Naomi Bowen. Scott is the son of
Mary Frances Coughenour Murphy and the late Kenny Coughenour. He is survived
by his brother David Coughenour and his sister-in-law Amy Coughenour, and
their children Andrew Sowards, Annamarie Coughenour, Chase Coughenour. His
aunt and uncle, Carol and Larry Sumpter, their children Patti Sumpter Truitt
(Michael) and Matt Sumpter (Amy Camp) and their children Lucas and Bailey
Truitt, Elijah Sumpter. Also surviving is Nikki’s Mother Stephanie “Renee”
Coughenour. Scott will forever remain in the hearts of many Great Aunts and
Uncles as well. Scotts life was blessed with a host of wonderful friends and
co-workers. Scott graduated from Huntington East High School in 1981. He
attended Marshall University, studying Music and Fine Arts. Following his
education, Scott worked as Apartment/ Maintenance Manager for Pyramid
Properties. Scott had a deep love for music and was an accomplished piano
and keyboards musician. He played with “Big Fun”, as well as several other
local bands. Scott filled his life with love, laughter and music. A special
thanks to Crystal Jackson. We send our sincerest gratitude, to the staff of
Drs and Nurses at St. Marys Hospital. Thank You, for always providing him
tenderness and loving care throughout his long illness. Your dedication and
kindness will not be forgotten. Visitation will be held 5pm-7pm at Chapman’s
Funeral Home. Immediately following there will be a “Celebration of Life” at
the home of David and Amy Coughenour. Graveside services for all, Saturday
1pm at Spring Hill Cemetery with Pastor Trent Eastman officiating.
