William T. "Tom" Davis
(August 15, 1941 - July 15, 2014)



William T. “Tom” Davis, 72, of Huntington, WV, died Tuesday July 15, 2014 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Tom was born August 15, 1941 in Huntington, WV, the son of the late Caroline L. Davis. He retired from the Huntington Police Department in 1991, after 27 years of service. He was a member of The Fraternal Order of Police Gold Star Lodge #65, The Old Centurions and he was a Kentucky Colonel. Tom grew up in the Church of God and accepted Jesus as a child. He had a love and compassion for the homeless, giving the food and other necessities as needed. Tom enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and spending time with family at his WV Mountain home in Tucker, Co., WV. He is survived by his wife, Alice Ann Thompson Davis, his son Jeffrey Thomas Davis of Lexington, KY, his grandchildren, Cameron Lee & Jefferson Thomas Davis also of Lexington and a host of friends and neighbors in the area. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday July 18, 2014 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with Rev. C.J. Adkins officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society, Huntington Animal Shelter or Little Victories.
