Gerald Edward "Jerry" Pieta, 78, of Barboursville, WV, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington. He was born November 26, 1937 in Huntington a son of the late Edward T. and Geraldine Humphreys Pieta. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Pieta. Jerry was a graduate of Huntington High School and attended Marshall University; and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves; a retired employee of the Cabell County Public Library; and a lifelong member of Enslow Park Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: a sister, Linda Wolverton of Milford, OH; a sister-in-law, Nancy Insco Pieta of Huntington; three nephews, Brad Wolverton, Chris Wolverton, and Tim Pieta; and a niece, Meribeth Hoagland. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Huntington. Burial will follow. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
